Grey Knights

Well this was a project done several years ago between commission work.  I've always enjoyed demon hunter type armies so when the GK got a re-release during the end of 5th edition I just had to get in on it.  The whole thing is done in very traditional schemes so nothing too out of the ordinary.

Surprisingly the alternate weapon options can be swapped without the need for magnets on this kit which was a very abnormal move for GW at the time.

If I remember right the glass portions on these rhinos were some of the first I did as before that I just gave them a color and gloss coat.

Tracking down forgeworld auto-cannon arms for the dreds was a massive pain as not only were they just as expensive as the dreadnought but one or the other side was always going out of stock.

Just for fun I added an inquisition squad to the army.  Added a lot of cheap firepower and a cheap HQ to the army.  Sadly right after completing it they dropped them from the book...

The squad itself are all conversions made up from spare parts except for the jokero.

The brotherhood champion was a simple conversion from the normal GK kit.

Mordrak used to be a fun (at least fluff wise) character in the book who had a retinue of ghost knights with him.  Of course I only got to use him 2 or 3 times before he was torn out of the book deleting some much needed diversity from the army.  After that they were just another terminator squad.

It was always nice to show up to a game with custom objectives that match your army.

Magnetizing the terminators was a major pain and I don't recommend it to anyone.

I mean really you can just buy more dudes instead of magnetizing...

Normally I'd just grab a justicar from the strike squads if I ever needed to bring the purifiers to full 10 man squad strength.  These guys were super mean when they first showed up so I tended not to use them.  Then they were nerfed to non existence and didn't get any use...

Lot of fun times teleporting the interceptor squad in for a fun strength 6 flame thrower cleansing...

The only model in the army that took more time to build than paint.  Seriously I want to slap the designer of this thing...

And dreamforge creates the perfect knight/titan for grey knights so why not use it?  Even after it was finished the whole thing is fully pose-able (except for the fact that I glued the feet to the base of coarse).  These guys take a ton of time to build but they are exceptional models.

Lots of magnetized parts for swapping.  Something I really don't miss doing.

And finally the big swapables for the titan.
