More Cthulhu Wars

Got some more photos done for the work I've been up to on Cthulhu Wars.  Today we have the independant Great Old Ones.  There's a ton of variety in sculpts, sizes and overall weirdness so lets get started.

I thought Atlach-Nacha was going to be boring until I realized it had these demented faces around it's mouth.  Love that touch too much.

One of the best things about lovecraftian things is that there is rarely an agreed upon color scheme or even shapes to conform to.  Ghatanothoa is the result of just going wild with ideas and having some airbrush fun.

Big ol Gobogeg was about 5 layers of washes before I got a skin that I liked.  Overall I think he turned out well.

Only one way to paint Cthugha and that's lots of fire.

I didn't really know what to do with Bokrug.  I didn't have enough dark blue yet so why not add that with a little OSL for eyes.

Byatis is one of these that I really want to read the related story behind.  I'll have to track that down soon.

Daoloth seemed a little odd rules wise kinda just hugs other guys and makes them less effective.  So I did a little color muted rainbow.

Eihort really turned out looking disturbing.

I didn't expect Chaugnar Faugn to be one of my favorites but after reading up on his lore its a weird creature for sure, part elephant and part vampire I'd have to say there's nothing else quite like it.

Aboth needed some toxic love with lots of green goope and barely a seperation between what is or isn't the ground goop.  This was just fun to do like nurgle models I get to just mix and match colors as much as I wanted.

Yig is a pretty simple paint scheme with some florescent paint as dripping poison.

Mother Hydra and Father Dagon always a stable.  I like the hydra sculpt but Dagon seemed a little uninspired honestly.

Gla'aki's model is awesome I just love it.

Nyogtha took several wash layers and airbrushings before I was happy with the color.  Overall I like it but I didn't want to get too colorful with this one.

Tulzscha was an easy one mostly just done with spray paint.  Nice to have a break for extra work!

Cthulhu the Harbinger is just a mamoth monster.  I really wanted to work on airbrushing with this one and got some good practice in on it.  Though there isn't that much to the detail of the model I still really liked it.

Dire Azathoth took more pre planning thought than actual painting time.  I settle on a color changing Vallejo paint for the crest and tentacles and then back to the OSL work like the original Azathoth
