Well back in March we got a rude awakening that they were selling the house myself and some roomies were living in. So after two months I'm moved in to a new place and back in action finally!
Of course I have a few random Abyssal Dwarf minis to show off as well! On top of that for the time being I've gone back to using clipping magic to remove the ugly photo box background! The program works great so check it out if you get a chance:

After much work I finally painted up the horde of Slave Orcs! I really do love the mantic orcs they just look absolutely brutal.
I'm also a fan of the Obsidian Golems so I thought I'd paint up another horde of them. This time they are not on fire so I have a unit that can be distinguished in case of using two and having an artefact on one.
The Greater Obsidian was my first attempt at glowing crystals and overall I like the look.
Hopefully next update will not be a two month gap though it may get a little more random next time...

Its cold so a great time to warm up by painting lava! Got the first troop of gargoyles done for the Abyssal Dwarves:
And for good measure a little more progress on the campaign markers with the fortresses being finished:

Dwarves, Cities and Castles
So a few things are in the works. First up I'm returning to my Chaos Dwarf (Now Abyssal Dwarves) both for playing in a campaign and hopefully going to the Lady of the Lake GT in Minnesota!
So first up I want three Rocket Launchers which I made from the GW Empire artillary sprues:
Painting up hordes of the little buggers is all well and good and even possible in the 6+ months I have but unfortunately I can't spend all that time on just evil dwarves (yep life isn't fair at all). So a few unit fillers will need to be made in order to chop down the painting time a bit. They also make the units look a bit less 'samey' as they break up the rank and file look a bit.
And as for those other projects well there is a TON of work to be done before I can convert and play a mighty empires campaign combined with Kings of War. In order to do that I need to paint up the tiniest scale I have ever done. Just to prove here's a dwarf dwarfing a bunch of cities:
And what good are cities and forts without siege battles? I'm also working on not only building siege equipment and castle terrain but creating rules that will work both with the campaign and KoW. The first playtest worked surprisingly well but needs a few tweaks. The fancy pants brigade did sadly lose to the elves but only just!
There is a ton of work to be done yet before we can begin playing but this should be a truly epic campaign!

Yay Quest!
These doors have been sitting lonely and drybrushed in shades of grey for too long so I figured why not add some fun to them? Should liven up the quest boards that's for sure!
Reaper was nice enough to make a few more decorations for the dungeon so now I need to make some new rules for them...
Also the Chaos Dwarf display board is done I'll have to get some shots of the entire army on it soon.
And this last little tid bit is the start of a new project for work and yes that is a Dread-Shark or Shark-Naught?

Tournament Army is Finished!
Got all of those tiny evil dwarf things done finally! This will be the 2500 point tourney army I'll be taking to King of the Mountain in November:
Totally forgot to include the extra Daemonsmith in here... tsk...
The Kadai Destroyer (Aka Moo Cow of Doom) is a Mcfarlane Zodiac Figure with a few added touches of fire.
There is a nice half and half mix of the Russian Alternative Chaos Dwarves in here. Those little metal guys are AMAZING for the price they more than give forgeworld a run for their money.
The Hobocav of course have old chaos puppies as mounts to make them more evil?
And the Hobo Khan in all his expendable glory.
Speaking of expendable these hobos were made from the Mantic goblins. I Don't recommend them they really are just terrible models with little detail. Too bad as I like a lot of their other stuff...
Of course good old forgeworld Infernal Guard. This is one of the few fully 'official' units in the whole army (the unpainted bull centaurs being the only other one).
And that's the whole 2500 points. Not bad for a 5 month ish project.

Chaos Dwarves!
Hey look yet another great excuse to make lava bases! I've been working on 2500 points of these little guys to take to a GT later on. Being a man of little means I'm doing them on the cheapish side so up first are heavily converted Magma Cannons!
And since I knew I was keeping some of those GW paint pots fora reason I made a dread quake mortar. Most of the war machines have been made out of spare parts I just purchased a reaper minis cannon so it was nice to save a ton of cash.
And yet more scratch builds with a Prophet on Bale Taurus. This guy was built off of a toy bull for a grand total of $20 and way to many hours of work.
currently down to only 30 infantry left to paint and another 5 cavalry but lots and lots of bases so more pics to come.

Hi there names Bob but you can call me Bob! I'm a analogue/digital gamer, musician an amateur game designer with more than a hint of insanity. I'll be mostly showing off miniatures painting on this sight both my own and things I have done for commission work as well. To start off with I'll be showing off my Warhammer Quest collection which is nearing completion and currently the project on the table the most.
My group plays with a set of revised rules which we have been working on forseveral years way to long to deem it a healthy obsession. If you would like to try em out check the link below:

Without further shameless plugging here are the first of many WHQ miniature pics:
