Farewell to Tau

8th Edition 40k is even less of my cup of tea than 7th or even 6th was.  For me the design is outright lazy and relies on making something super strong to sell it for the next tournament cycle, backpedaling in a faq, breaking something else unintentional and repeat.  It's not even flavor of the month more like flavor of the week now so I will be simply playing the games I like instead.

Of coarse since this isn't my kind of game I really can't justify holding on to the miniatures anymore.  Before sending everything off to the great ebay in the sky I might as well get some decent pictures of the finished items though.  As such the Tron Tau will be added to the finished projects.

I do have some slight regrets as I was hoping to find some fun glowy paint scheme to do for the kroot but I really don't want to waste any more time on a game I just don't want to play.  For all of you having fun with the game though keep playing and enjoying it!  There is plenty of room for different types and gamers in the hobby!

Sooo Much Painting!

Finally had a few days to actually get some work done.

First up the final bit of work on the first batch of tau.  The kroot have been finished as well as the weapons and head on the riptide and weapons on the crisis team.

Next up a little work on quest again and my daemon army in the form of plague drones for the sewers and a fairy to replace a lost one for our druid.

and a few pics to finish it off of some older works for quest:  The wraiths and skaven jezzails.

Next big project is a fairly special Orky Warboss :)

Alright got a few easy WHQ paint jobs in between commission work.  First up the Ghosts taken from several reaper bones minis for variety and happy fun time.  Also we may be starting up a new campaign soon and one person wants to play the Chainsaw Warrior which was made as an April fools joke but is fully playable so why not!

Of course the commission work is still continuing slowly but surely.  The crisis suits are done sans weapons and the riptide body is done sans head.  I'm really liking the scheme but without the colorful bases they look BORING and feel that way when painting them...

The hobos have arrived!

Finished up the Hobgoblins or hobos as we call them for WHQ and might as well post some more questing goodness:

 Also did some black lining on the Chrome Tau and figured out a better way to photograph them so enjoy!

And started work on the kroot for this army.  I'm going with a super contrasting theme to the shiny happy tau.

Alright begun working enforce on the new chrome tau for a omission project.  Just finished up the Fire Warriors and Drones:

Of course that's not all.  The big bad Cthulhu is finished too!  This was a blast to paint!

So up first is a commission project.  Just painted up a fire warrior for the client who is requesting a chrome theme.  Still haven't decided on a basing scheme for this army but you can never go wrong with lava....
