Dork Elves in the Dungeon!

Nope that's not a typo in the title not at all.  Finished up painting all the new dark elves for warhammer quest mini expansion.  I've been working on rebasing all of WHQ as well this is the first group to get completely finished and what a difference a base makes!

The first group photo is just the new dark elves added to our WHQ mini expansion.

And here's all the possible dark elf encounters in one!

These were all 3d printed though I had a few wash issues that made things less than stellar.

Sisters of Slaughter are a real nightmare to try and rank up!

The melusai are really nice models and (barely) fit on 25 mm bases!

I've been collecting for WHQ for 13+ years now so some of my paint jobs are looking pretty old and shabby.  Adding a shiny new base though really helps these assassins stand out a little.

I always loved these old models and am using them for my black guard of nagaroth.

Another old paint job, this time an ebay rescue to boot!

Believe it or not the paint scheme for my dark elves came from a really funky shoe I saw.  Its a fun scheme to paint for sure especial on this not so dark pegasus.

I don't remember these executioners having a very long print run.  Probably for the best as the blades being a seperate part on most of the models makes them super fragile.

I have the blood wrack shirne with a detachable melusai so that she can be used as an individual encounter or moutned on the shirne.

Even have the older metal corsairs to use for quest.

I remember way back in the day having a few of hte metal cold one riders, these plastic ones are a big improvement on those tiny dinos.

Grabbing the statue off the cauldron of blood gives me a nice avatar of Khaine

And here's a few more shots of the blood wrack shrine without its rider.

Here's the ancient hydra, my box was missing a head and well oop by the time I opened it so I forced a dragon head onto it.  Looks kinda silly but I dig it.

The kharibdyss is one of my favorite models from the new dark elf range lots of fun detail.

Had a dragon lying around and thought why not add an entry where a dark elf rides it?

These shades needed a repaint after another ebay rescue.

Still enjoy how these witch elves turned out.

Dark Elves and Repaints

There's plenty of new dark elves to paint up for Warhammer Quest still plus I'm still finishing up touch ups and repaints on the original warriors!

The good old fashioned 90's Cauldron of Blood.  Fun to do such a radically different paint job on this old model.

The bloodwrack Melusai, I have it set into the base in a way it can be taken out to put in the shrine (not yet painted).

Needed a gaggle of Cold One Riders too.  Have to admit the newer ones are so much easier to work with and look way better than the old metal ones I had back in the day.

The Khinerai were 3d prints that had a few issues when I printed them but I just ran with it.  Like the idea of these guys but who keeps naming these things at GW?!

One little beastmaster with happy twirly whips!

Gotta have a dark pegasus for the dungeons as well plus I get to paint a bubblegum pink and teal pegasus!

Found a new model for my warrior priest with a bold red and white scheme to go with it.

This bounty hunter came from MOM miniatures kickstarter that I did long ago.  Lots of fun models from that.

Some quick touchups on the the nurgle chaos warrior.  No one will suspect him in the settlement...

The original Chaos warrior got a nice face lift from my first paint job.

This brewmaster just needed a little more brightness to the scheme to make him more interesting.

It didn't take a lot to add a few highlights to the bretonnian.

Still not entirely happy with this model but She works well as the Chainsaw Warrior.

Re-Delving

I've mostly been working on re-basing every single Warhammer quest model that doesn't already have a pretty themed base using 3d printed bases.  This has been tedious and exhausting and I can guess I'm about halfway there?

Taking a break from that I've finished up the dark elf expansion for our custom Warhammer Quest Rules.  This means I have a TON of dark elves to paint as the besetiary is greatly expanded now.  This forced me to finally settle on a theme for my Kings of War Twighligt Kin whenever I can find time to paint those as well:

The sisters of Slaughter are nice models but I can't figure out how you would ever rank them up.  The color scheme was inspired by a pair of shoes I saw once with bright teal, pink and purple and some blacks as well.

Needless to say this is a really fun paint scheme and complements my goody two shoes elves well too.  The melusai were a set of models I had forgoten that I got years ago so it was nice to not have to hunt any down.

In addition to some new WHQ models I started doing touch ups on the old warriors.  These guys were originally painted 10-12 years ago so I've learned a few things since then.

Upgrade the Kislev Shamans to some magical ice weapons!

The wardancer now fits in with my actual elf army.

The elf himself just got a repaint in the origanl art style.

Can't believe I didn't even paint the gems originally on this wizard.

The halfling looks rather sour at his lot in life now but sports a much fancier dress.

And Done.

Finished up the old world monster tables for Warhammer Quest finally!

First up are the Slaanesh and Khorne chaos warriors just to be complete.  This way no matter which god your chaos warrior chooses I've got it covered!

The dark elves were a bit of a salvage job as they already came painted (horribly) so some details are no longer present.
Finally the last new thing to be finished are a selection of chaos characters to be used in various strange monster encounters.  Lots of flavor and variety in these one which is always fun to paint.
As for the unposted old photos there are a ton!  Here goes:

Needed a few beastmen characters on some entries so of course reaper provides.

The chimera is from reaper as the new GW one is WAY to big to fit in the dungeon as a normal large monster.
Goblin characters are some of the most fun models to paint.

The gorgons are from reaper and in spite of the mono-pose they work well.

The bull god incarnate in the great taurus:

The reaper griffon is a wonderful model nice and easy to paint and a classic pose.

Another once hard to find model the lamasu.  Of course now GW has them back up for sale at prices that nearly match what I paid on ebay for them....

An old classic liche model.

After playing dark souls I decided the manticore needed to be white :)

I love this reaper minotaur character and I only had to touch up and shade the pre paint work that it came with as its one of the legend rubber models.

I wish I had waited to paint this model as its the necromancer from avatars of war.  Not sure I really did it much justice...

Poo daemons or nurglings you decide!

The rat ogres were bought off ebay and came painted however despite this I thought i'd leave the paint job on them as they aren't too bad.

Some more skaven characters (so tired of painting skaven!)

And yet more skaven... so many rats!

I have several flamers in multiple colors/eras of models  fun ones to paint too.
 And of course zombies.

So whats next?  First up is going to be a group shot which will take some work to get together but should be done soonish.  After that its on to lustria!
