The Tron Tau were a repaint of an older black and red color scheme I originally did. As boring as they may have been to paint they were easy to get painted up and fast as well. Sadly as I managed to get a sizeable army together I began to fall out with 40k and its constant flavor of the month syndrome.
My biggest regret is that I never got to the pink units....
The idea was that of my 48 fire warriors that I had they would be split into 4 units which would all be color coordinated to their transports.
All the bases were simply painting directly onto the base itself primed black of coarse.
Since I'm a cheap man I painted my commander white to make him stand out from all the other XV8 suits.
There was always something about this sculpt that I didn't like and I think its the lack of easy pose-ability that it had without severe modification. So after each model was painted up a final gloss coat was applied and boom it was done!
Looking back there is a lot I could have done better on these with what I know now and liberal use of a better detail oriented airbrush would certainly speed it up even more.
