The True Sith Lord

So this happened:

Yep we have an X-Wing event this month and I wanted to make a special prize for whoever gets the most wins during the campaign.  Thus Sith Lord Binks was born or Darth Yusa

Also finished up a horde of Lesser Abyssaals:

Something Old, Something Blue?

As always no army is ever even close to complete.  I've added the old Ariel model from the wood elves as a beautifully creepy planar apparition for my Night Stalkers.  The beholder I was using to fill this slot will now be a much more fitting extra Void Lurker.

And an old piece of GW terrain (though recently re-released?) with some demon cultists on top as an abysaal well of souls.  This thing managed to barely fit in the storage box after magnetizing the cultists on top!

The humans have been officially named the Fancy Pants Militia and are nearly ready for battle so pics are soon to come...

More of the abyssal horde

There's still plenty left to re-base even after this lot but its not a bad stopping place for now either as it brings the force well into the 3000 point range.

Up first are some flesh hounds repurposed as hellhounds.

These flame bearers are using an older movement tray so I'll have to experiment with washes to darken it up later or just re do it.

Plaguebearers are seeing new life as abyssal guard.

Same with the Bloodletters who are now abyssal guard with two handed weapons.

Last of the bunch are the daemonettes taking up the role of succubi.

I'm constantly tempted to repaint this army but I'll never get to all the mountains of models if I do that so for now they will remain with shiny new bases to add a little flair to them.  For a flashback of where these little guys are coming from here's a picture from the way before times of the same models on the old boring bases.

Back to Basics

Started this project a long while ago but now its back.  That's right time to re-base a stupidly large daemon army.  The paint jobs are old but some new shiny bases certainly help make them a bit less embarrassing to field.  Like all of my fantasy armies this one is being converted to Kings of War as a Forces of the Abyss army.

Some of these have been shown off before but now the bases have been finished and magnetic movement trays added to match.  First up are the Molochs:

Heres the start of the Imps (and I do mean start I have more than I should...).  As an homage to the long gone chaos gods I wanted to theme all the bases.  Nurgle has rusty nasty goo made from vallejoh sandy paste paint.

The bloodcrushers are being used as allied varangur Direfang Riders as they just seemed to fit more than making them another moloch unit.   The khorne bases are covered in blood made with Vallejo Water effects.  These are super simple to use special effect paints and I really love them!

It took re-basing and some fiddling about to make the abyssal horsemen rank up. These slaanesh seekers were never modeled to rank up which was already painfully obvious in WHFB.  The slaanesh bases are done the same way as the khorne ones but with Spazstik Chrome paint instead of blood.

The tortured souls have been done for a while but now they have a pretty movement tray! The Tzeentch bases have pink fire made from good old fashioned hot glue.  Just let it cool a bit and use tweezers to pull, twist and shape it.

A few abyssal champions which are honestly some decent troubleshoot combat heroes.

I could field somewhere around 15 of these as efreets but I think 2 is more than I will ever use.  Then again a stupid high points value battle could be fun....

Just because I'm going over all of them here's the archfiend again.

And in case of a 'sudden need of points' a second arch fiend.  The skulls a cheap little Halloween decoration and since its originally bel'akor I thought I'd combine all the base styles into one.

Kings of War Feaver

Yep they killed one of my favorites so no I can finally get more people into to Mantics version (which I'm enjoying a whole lot more)!  So in honor of that one new sigmarish game we shall not mention I'm rebasing my old daemons to play Mantic's awesome new game which is how streamlining rules should have been done...

It doesn't hurt that the daemons bigger bases for forces of Abyss means that my army got way bigger in KOW either since this is a 1000 point one already rebased!

Still not sure on the base edging for slaanesh yet..

I'll have to figure out something similar for nurgle but that shouldn't be too tough.  Time to convert 10,000 points of fantasy daemons into ludicrous points for KOW.
