Finished up the last factions of Cthulhu Wars. This really is a marathon painting up this massive game! Its been a long road of painting already so this is going to be a big photo dump...
The Tcho Tcho included my favorite color to paint and I went bubblegum crazy!
Until I started painting them I didn't even notice the proto shoggoth were bursting out of some poor soul.
It was nice to paint up a different high priest sculpt from the usual fair.
Adding the optional cultists and neutral ones is certainly increasing the size of these factions.
The ancients had colors I really liked but for some reason I just wasn't too into painting this faction. The cathedrals really dragged but I like how the whole faction turned out as a whole.
This faction in particular I think has the least interesting alt cultists. To be fair I really like the standard cultists sculpts on the left side.
In a game like this there really is no reason to use cardboard except the board itself gotta have those shiny gribblies to use!
The cathedrals are really sweet sculpts and very imaginative, but took forever to paint up and I'm not fully sure I like the end result so much.
Combat 7 and super easy to paint up!
The reanimated and unmen are really interesting sculpts. Unmen in particular are very unsettling with their exagerated proprotions.
I couldn't resist printing up and making the Midnight Society fan faction! The rules are increadible and fun to play with and that stl for dracula's castle is the best!
All of the STls can be found on myminifactory, these bats are increadible and print out super easy.
Currently this is my favorite werewolf sculpts for sure. The whole color theme here was a little odd to pull off with just black so I've added blood wherever possible to splas a secondary color that isn't just grey.
The cultists were found on thingiverse for free and honestly are a great sculpt for Cthulhu Wars cultists. Might eventually add a set of normal cultists just to complete it as an alternative but for now I don't have any extras.
The vampires aren't as interesting but I like the idea that they may be brides of Dracula.
Dracula himself and his high priest death! Death was a 25th(?) aniverassary model put out by reaper that had been sitting around for years in a bin.
My favorite outer god and mythos entity finally has his own player faction! Demon sulton is the most insane set of minis for any faction in this game (and takes up the most space too!).
I went with the same paint scheme I used for my Nightstalker Kings of War army.
The actual faction color is a dark chocolate brown (still used on the bases) but I really didn't think that would be a good color for this faction and for the first time broke away from honoring the faction color scheme.
Each of the great old ones in this are creepy and impressive, this one being more creepy but with lots of details.
Really like how the faction starts with tiny versions of the big guys and moves up to terrifying giant models stomping all over the board.
Bebi azathoth :)
With the cult members I did go with the dark browns as they are a bit more down to earth than the monsters.
This alternate cultist sculpt is a favorite of mine with the torn out hair and straight jacket. Really makes sense for a follower of Azathoth.
Since I ordered the new high priest pac and had the old ones as well I've decided just to paint up both as alternative choices. Guess we could do a crazy game with each faction having two if we really wanted, might end the game a bit too early for sure.
These demon gates are absolutely awesome sculpts. They are way more impressive painted up than they ever look in pictures. I was very surprised by these models!
